  • What are the payouts for the Breeders Cup class?

    25% of the total proceeds from the Breeders Cup aucton will go to charity. 25%

    will be split between those stallions who are present at the aucton. The

    remaining 50% will be paid out to the top 10 placings in the Breeders Cup class at

    the Morgan Gold Cup 2024.

  • How do I obtain an entry to the Breeders Cup?

    You receive an entry if you donate a stallion service or purchase a stallion service

    in the Breeder’s Cup aucton.

  • When is the class?

    The Breeders Cup class will be for 3-year-old park harness horses and will take

    place at the Morgan Gold Cup Horse Show in June 2024. Please note that this is a

    USEF show, and all USEF rules apply.

  • How do I enter?

    In additon to entering the horse in the horse show with the official show

    secretary, you will need to notify the Breeders cup secretary of your intention to

    compete. You will receive a form to complete around April 2024.

  • Can I enter any horse in the class?

    Yes. You may enter any 3-year-old morgan into the Breeders Cup Class. The entry

    does not need to be sired by the stallion you purchased or donated.

  • Can I use the certificate next year instead?

    No, they are good for only 1 year.

  • Is my certificate transferable to someone else?

    A certificate may be transferred by its original owner, by assigning that certificate

    to a specific horse. Once writen notice of this is given to the Breeders cup

    secretary, this horse is the only entry eligible for that certificate. A transfer form

    will be provided to the owner of that horse and must be presented along with the

    certificate to enter.

  • What Are the Rules for the Gold Cup Class?

    The Certificate qualifies you to compete in a class of 3 year old park horses at the Morgan Gold Cup Horse Show. You must declare your desire to participate by the closing date of the entries for the show. 


    Any 3 year old Morgan is eligible to compete for the class. The entry does not have to be sired by a stallion participating in the stallion service auction. Eligibility is determined by a certificate. A certificate is owned by the purchaser of a stallion service or by the stallion service provider. 


    Certificates are good for only one year. The certificate must be presented in hard copy prior to the competition and will not be reissued, do not lose your certificate. 


    This certificate may only be transferred if a voucher owner gives written notice that a certificate is sold with a horse. At that time, the certificate entry becomes applicable for that horse only. A copy of the transfer will be mailed to the new owner and must be present along with the original certificate for entry tint the class. To transfer the certificate with a sold horse, contact the Creeders Cup secretary for the proper transfer form.
